Our wine region

The Moselle

The steep slopes along the Moselle River are ideal for growing Riesling. The warm valley climate positively influences the microclimate in the vineyards. The Devonian slate stores the sun's warmth and releases it to the vines at night. Combined with good soil aeration, this creates an ideal environment for our Riesling vines. The slate soil gives the Riesling its delicate minerality, a characteristic that has been present for over 2000 years.
